A Floral Tribute to the Monarch Migration

A Floral Tribute to the Monarch Migration

At Down To Dirt, we specialize in bringing bold, nature-inspired visions to life—and one of our favorite projects from last year was a perfect blend of floral artistry and environmental purpose.

For the grand opening of TD Bank’s new Sanford, FL branch, we created a 6-foot monarch butterfly entirely out of fresh florals. This wasn't just a beautiful statement piece—it was a thoughtful nod to the location’s deeper meaning. The Sanford branch is part of an official Monarch City USA, with a certified Monarch Butterfly Garden on-site to support the migration of this iconic pollinator.

Our floral butterfly installation tied directly into that mission, celebrating both the beauty of the monarch and the bank’s commitment to supporting native pollinator habitats.

🌿 Why it Mattered:

  • Sanford is on the Monarch migration path and actively works to protect it.

  • TD Bank planted native milkweed and pollinator-friendly plants as part of their landscape.

  • Our sculpture added a visual storytelling layer—capturing attention while honoring a local conservation effort.

And yes—the butterfly was completely real, made from fresh florals and a whole lot of heart.

Projects like these are what we live for—where creative vision meets environmental impact.
